Cathedral of Brasília - Brasília, Brazil

Cathedral of Brasília - Brasília, Brazil

The Cathedral of Brasília is one of the most famous works of the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.

It was designed in 1958 and completed in 1970, when Brasília was being built as the new capital of Brazil.

The building has a very unique shape. It looks like a crown or hands reaching up to the sky. It is made of 16 curved concrete columns.

Unlike most churches, visitors enter through an underground passage. This leads to a bright and open interior space.

Inside, there are beautiful blue and green stained glass windows. The light creates a calm and special atmosphere. There are also sculptures of angels hanging from the ceiling.

The cathedral is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is an important religious and cultural symbol of Brazil.

Today, it is one of the most visited landmarks in Brasília and attracts people from all over the world.
