The Cathedral of Brasília (officially Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida) is a masterpiece of modernist religious architecture designed by the legendary architect Oscar Niemeyer and structurally engineered by Joaquim Cardozo. Completed and dedicated on May 31, 1970, this iconic Roman Catholic cathedral serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Brasília and remains one of the most visited landmarks in Brazil's planned capital.
